Organized in 2009 and chartered by the James Madison University Alumni Association, the chapter provides opportunities for local JMU alumni and friends of the University to get together to socialize, network, and serve the community. The JMU Alumni Chapter of Tampa Bay was formed to promote the advancement of the interests of the University and the Alumni Association. Additionally, the chapter, in furthering the ideals resultant from the Madison experience, has a core mission of actively promoting the general fraternal and philanthropic activities of JMU Alumni and friends in the Tampa Bay area. The Tampa Bay area has approximately 650 JMU Alumni and the University’s alumni presence continues to grow comprising of the following counties: Citrus, Hernando, Hillsborough, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Manatee, and Sarasota. Regular communication is considered a fundamental element towards sustaining chapter success.
